Dr. Callizo received her PhD in Psychology from the University of Granada (Spain), after earning a BA in Philosophy and two MAs—one in Religious and Cultural Studies and another in Education. Her research explores interreligious and intercultural aspects of psychology. During her PhD, she conducted research stays at Boston University and UC Santa Barbara (Fulbright Program), and fieldwork in Banja Luka (Bosnia and Herzegovina). She recently got an Open Science in Religion Award (Templeton Foundation).
She is now a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute for Culture and Society, University of Navarra, where she is the research associate of a project on the psychological foundations of divine forgiveness in Spanish-speaking Catholics. This interdisciplinary project brings together theologians and psychologists to develop theoretically informed, empirical research.
Dr. Callizo is also currently a visiting scholar at Harvard’s Human Flourishing Program, where she continues her cross-cultural work on divine forgiveness in Catholic and Protestant communities. Her work has appeared in journals such as Psychonomic Bulletin & Review, Language and Cognition, and Psychology of Religion and Spirituality.
