Dr Miguel Farias studied psychotherapy and experimental psychology at Lisbon and Oxford universities. He has been a lecturer at Oxford University and currently leads the Brain, Belief, and Behaviour Lab at Coventry University. His recent work includes a study of heart-centred contemplation in Christianity and Islam, the beliefs of atheists, spiritual possession, and indigenous religion in the Brazilian Amazon.
